Hey! Enjoyed your blog! Googled oklahoma fly fishing and this popped up so i read.

I'm heading to OKC in April for training at the FAA Academy, and want to bring my gear with me to go fishing after class and on weekends! Am very interested in trying new waters. Your blog has been helpful.

If you ever feel like helping a tourist out...hit me a line!

Ariel: I’ve been tying the Egan, but from a photo only. I’ve developed a variant that might be of interest. Instead of the dubbed body I simply have used Antron Tread wrapped up to the eyes. It’s quick and clean…. and works.I’ve very interested in knowing the history of this fly if anyone cares to write to me with that 411 @ fflutterffly@att.net

Walt:
I really like your web site…being an okie flyfisher since highschool. I’m sixty two now and still like fly fishing… mostly in eastern okla rivers and creeks.

I would like to have your recipe for the “rusty orange egan’s headstand” fly.

I’m looking to start fishing for carp this summer as they are everywhere and the rest of the fish are not biting, do to the high summer heat.

Thanks Walt... I appreciate the encouragement.

Check out this link to see the recipe: http://www.flytyingforum.com/pattern4807.html

I think you'll love carpin'. When you hook the first one and he takes you to the backing... you'll be addicted like the rest of us, ha! Hope you'll come back and give us a headstand success story
