Local Water
Welcome to the Local Water section of TheOkieAngler.com!
This section of the site is created with a bit of hesitation… No fisherman wants to be crowded out of his or her favorite honey-hole, but it seems that our great local fly fishing opportunities are all too often overlooked! Granted, part of fly fishing’s mystic comes with standing knee deep in the clear and cold flows of one’s favorite trout stream, but if you’re not taking advantage of the fly fishing prospects in your own backyard you’re definitely missing out on some fun.
These locations are all public (with the exception of some of the golf course ponds, which will remain nameless if private) and I hope you’ll come back and post a comment with a fishing report if you’re able to get out and try any of these areas.
Between work, family, and time on the water for myself it may take me a few days (read: weeks) to get all the information up for each area. My apologies for the construction, but I hope you’ll check out the areas listed below that have already have helpful information. Each area will be updated regularly as I fish them and as I find time to add more info!
